Shepherd’s Staff Training
“The Shepherd’s Staff: Leading God’s Church with Spiritual Excellence.”
CBA1 Founder and Ministry Trainer covers the Four Key Components of the Christian Church: the Shepherd (Jesus Christ), the Shepherd’s Sheep (congregation members), the Shepherd’s Desire (obedience and followership), and the Shepherd’s Staff (ministry employees and leaders).
Dr. Whitaker explores the differences between Shepherd Staff members and Church Staff members, emphasizing that Shepherd Staff must be trustworthy, versatile, diverse, and committed to Christ first, while Church Staff focus more on job descriptions without necessarily having Spiritual Commitment to neither Christ nor their Pastor.
Dr. Whitaker discusses problematic employment clauses in church contracts, including restrictive non-compete agreements and lack of unemployment benefits, and introduced an Unemployment Savings Plan formula to help ministry leaders prepare financially for potential job changes.
Dr. Whitaker’s training also covers proper Shepherd’s Staff Manage$ent Techniques, distinguishing between macro-management (hands-off leadership) and micro-management (overseeing every detail), and addressed the challenges of hiring church members for staff positions.
